Dropped Something

A male American goldfinch trying to fish the sunflower seed heart he dropped out of the bird bath. I watched him land with the seed in his beak; sit there and try to work out how to get a drink when he had a seed clutched in his beak; and then eventually drop the seed into the water (see extra). Of course, he could have been closely examining the maple flower, or trying to wet his whistle, but I kind of suspect he was looking for his seed. I'm not sure this particular goldfinch is the brightest bulb in the box... He is, however, rapidly coming into his breeding plumage!

As much as anything, I like the reflections.
