Chester in Spring
Our 2 night break in Chester was today bathed in blue sky. We walked the circumference of the city wall and then through the old streets. It was a fantastic day I had forgotten how nice the architecture is and of course the old city wall walk touches the R. Dee, the railway, the canals, the roman remains, the cathedral and of course the famous clock. The streets were quiet and with the trees in blossom I think it was the perfect day to see the city. The perfect day ended as it should with a superb meal at the Chefs Table, I thoroughly recommend this small restuarant.
I have included in extra a selection of the many photos I took, they include the 1897 clock, a couple of river shots, a tower on the wall that by Legend states that on the 24th of September 1645, during the Civil War, King Charles I stood on the tower and watched his army defeated. Finally a view in the cathedral from the choir stalls.
