Gorilla
This Western lowland gorilla lives at the New Orleans Audubon Zoo. Our blip group spent a lovely day wandering the paths, enjoying our time together and the New Orleans sun. I have mixed feelings about zoos, as many of us do. While looking at a jaguar a preschooler asked her mother if the animal liked living there. Her mother responded that zoos are special places because without them people would not have the chance to meet these animals. I guess that's how I justify it too. It lets us see how magnificent they are, and why we need to work to make sure their habitats remain as untouched as possible.
