Buds

Although a lot of the early tree blossom is going over now, some trees are still just coming into flower. I think this one might be a fairly early-flowering cherry. The buds look like tiny boxing gloves springing out at you. 

I managed to do a bit of pruning this morning and also removed some dead or dying bamboo canes. I haven't bought any from the garden centre for years as we have a constant supply thinned out from the bamboo clumps at the bottom of the garden.
