Skyclad; One Street #5

Wild weather! Gales, sunshine, downpours, rainbows, amazing light - mostly all at once. I've been hurtling around doing last minute essentials including topping up cards and have been to Ballydehob and Bantry - frequently stopping the car to nip out and attempt to caputre an elusive rainbow or dramatic rays. In the end though I've settled for a bungalow - part of my One Street offering.
We have left the village sign, complete with metal flowers, moved around the bend towards the pier, passing the newly constructed wall plus otter tunnel. On the other side of the road are several bungalows. Bungalows tend to be the scourge of the Irish countryside and are everywhere - often built right next to an attractive old house which is left empty. They all tend to be the same boring design and are usually surrounded by a nice flat bit of grass. Fortunately the bungalows in my street have a little bit more character and their owners rejoice in imaginative and luxuriant gardens. This one has just had a rather wonderful coat of paint - I love this skyclad blue! It is a well used holiday home and has the most magnificent views across the bay. A nice bit of walling in front too. Walls are very important and every waller has his own techique and style. You will be judged by your wall!!

Tonight we are out for a meal with friends - they have been ploughing through the Jerusalem cookbook by Yotam Ottolenghi which sounds very promising. I've been asked to make a suitable and exotic pudding. I have amassed a pineapple, a mango, several pomegranates and some oranges. Now I have to think of something creative to do with them. Afterwards there will be table tennis. TJ and Earthdreamery are coming too. It all tends to get quite loud and competitive!
