As I keep saying:-

NEVER let the plants read the book.

I saw a Youtube clip recently in which it was claimed a new flower spike arose from about two axils down from the top.This one, evidently didn't get those instructions.
By my reckoning the current spike ought to be from between the 2 horizontal markers.
I had a census of old flower stalks; I made it 6 previous, with the current one coming from the same point as one of the earlier ones.

Just checked, it's been on the go since late December  and one leaf is on its way out.
