Forest of Dean

Woke up to a misty morning in Gloucester. Fortunately when we arrived in Coleford for our Park Run the sun had broken through. An interesting and zig zag course but you needed to watch your step with tree roots ready to trip you up.

Then adjourned to New Beechenhurst for a Sculpture walk through the forest. The highlight of which was this stained glass celebrating nature.

Then a final stopping off point at Westbury Court Gardens. A beautifully renovated Dutch water garden. The house had been demolished in 1964 but fortunately the garden was rescued by the National Trust. Some wonderful topiary but these flowers caught my eye - see extra.

A grand day out.
