Tribute to Agnès Varda

Agnès Varda, a renowned filmmaker, died yesterday at her colorful home in Paris. It would be presumptuous of me to say more, so here are links to her extensive Wikipedia page and an appraisal of her work.  We were taking a long walk in the Montparnasse area with our friend Richard, whom we had reconnected with in St. Dizier three weeks ago.  He has led an interesting life; after serving as an assistant to Marc Chagall in his 20s he travelled the world as a tourist guide for decades.  He has settled in Paris, working as an artist.
