I remember an interview with Karl Wallinger from years and years ago, where he said that whenever he acquired a new piece of musical equipment, he would record a Beatles track as a method of putting it through its paces. And I totally get that; having a project is a great way of learning about how something works, as opposed to just tinkering about with it.
I bought this mixer a while ago but I've not got 'round to using it. It's always easier to fall back on my usual set up for recording the radio show but this morning the Minx told me I'd left my bag of radio stuff at her house. Thus the crisis/opportunity arose for me to break this new mixer out of its box.
All in, it took me about an hour of messing with this and Audacity to get to the point where I could record the show (and even then was tweaking all the way through the first half) but now it's 'in use' and hopefully next week I can run some keyboards through it, too. (Note to self: buy more leads!)
