Diary of an Edinburgher

Tidy cupboards

Michael came today to take Archie out, and they had a dry sunny but cold walk, though it was wet earlier. Archie is very sweet, he seems to think it's his duty to sit on his walkers' lap, whether they really wanted a wet smelly dog there or not (we put his blanket over their knees). I don’t think Michael's that mad keen, and he doesn’t usually stay for a cuppa, but today he did. Archie couldn’t wait to jump up on him. But he would never dream of jumping into JR's lap, and she takes him most walks! Funny wee dog.

A delivery of a new spice rack caused great excitement. Actually, we never had an 'old' spice rack - they were all shoved in drawers, not very accessible. Now they look very smart on the back of the larder door. We're getting every cupboard much more organised!

Archie had his vet appointment at 3pm, but we got a text to say that the painter was arriving then. We've been waiting for the painter for a week now. So I stayed in to meet him while JR took Arch for his half yearly check up, which he passed with flying colours. We've had visits before where we've been worried about his night time running around acting oddly - he doesn’t do that now.

The painter just checked the job and will come tomorrow afternoon to do the first coat (of three). He's a very busy chap!
