Dock: Day 2

A much nicer day!  This was fascinating…I watched quite a long time…and of course couldn’t decide on one artistic blip…so here is a collage for anyone that might be actually interested in how it happened today.

Meet Rome, our condo dock president whose project this is. She is in real estate, knows but still couldn’t hurry the city, ,  this is the 4th dock (including 2 rowing clubs she’s built.   She spent the day with the net picking up debris.(.there are 10 pages from the DNR of rules and directions.) You see there is a boom all around and also around the individual pilings.

Then after the tops and cross pieces were cut off each group of pilings, the crane grabbed each one with the orange vibrater thing (hydraulic cables attached) to loosen each piling and bring it up a couple of feet.   After doing that to all those exposed, they attach the grabber and hauled them out of the water easily and dumped the on the barge.  So tall they were.   Worked great.

Then they will demolish the last finger and then move to the south side of the dock and do the same.   the new dock gets towed up from Tacoma and thru the locks (1/2 not yet attached as it wouldn't fit in the locks)) and will be here next week.  We are sorry we will miss its arrival as we’re off to the Island tomorrow with Maple while everyone else has Spring Break in California.  I heard they got a few days extension for the installation.

AND... I've been taking an online course in travel photography (ha ,now that I travel less! :-)) and trying to learn how to focus (never a strong point in any of my art)  Well, I think I actually failed with the recent Baja trip..too short, too many places... but have played with making 7 images.."impressions of Baja"..and put them on my other journal;, Fotoperks2, starting here March 1, to March 7.   IF you have time...tell me what you think. :-)
