Ahead

Another day of unrelenting dreich-ery, on all fronts.

But I'm amused by the little maple in the square that put forth its blossoms at least two weeks ahead of all the others; it presumably "knew" somehow that it had been in severe danger of being totally smothered by a massive growth of ivy, but perhaps didn't detect that a nice man from the council had cut through all the ivy stems back in the winter, so that now it can grow green to its heart's content.
