Vesuvius and Herculaneum.

A very full day, with a trip to Vesuvius this morning. I’m not sure what I expected, but it was so busy ( I dread to think what it would be like in the summer).

We visited Herculaneum the last time we were in the area and we wanted to visit again. It’s a really fascinating place- many of the buildings are better preserved than Pompeii. It would be great if more excavation could happen.

Lots of extras again today, including the escalator system at Garibaldi station.
