Winter Tor
I was out with the local walking group on Dartmoor today, a walk around Belstone. Fortunately it was a short walk as the weather was pretty cold and mainly fairly misty and cloudy. It gave us a good feel for Dartmoor though - the bleakness of this area of the moors, the quietness and expansive views. We saw some lovely Dartmoor ponies, some interesting sheep with very curled horns and I made a mental note to return at a later date in good weather and when the highly praised tearooms are open ie Friday to Monday.
We left Belstone with a temperature of 6C and arrived back home about an hour later to the sun shining and a temperature of 12C. Quite surprising really.
