Crap.

Getting some traction on this house today and started actually buying some materials to move this along.

Trouble is that the floor hasn't come up properly, it's certainly not flat enough for a new vinyl floor to be laid, so 3 new sheets of plywood to go down. But first, the old subfloor needs to come up. There are also soft spots which is a bit of cause for concern so it's best to get underneath it to check out why.

So started tearing at the floor, only to discover a huge number of nails holding the old plywood down. What you see here is 90 minutes of tearing at the floor with a flatbar and framing hammer. After 3 hours I gave up with nearly all of it up.

Tomorrow I have to remove all the screws - hundreds of them, and then pull up the yellow vinyl tile I've found under the plywood, and then pull the barrier layer up as well. All in all, another 3-4 hours of scraping and pulling.

Need to find my old barrier sheet, or some tar paper to put down first, and then custom cut the new plywood sheets to fit. Them cut the vinyl floor to fit, then lay the glue, then lay the vinyl.

Maybe.
