CAPTAIN JOHN EGGE - was a pioneer, paddle steamer Captain, and a businessman. He was born in Shanghai, China, c. 1830, married a Pt. Elliot girl at St. Jude's Church, in South Australia, travelled to Wentworth and led a very busy life 1859 - 1901. Very well respected in the area and all along the Rivers.
Our little grand daughter just loves to sit on his knee and give him a cuddle..I'm sure he has many little ones do the same... Later on, when our family come to visit, I shall take a blip of her doing just that....
