The survivor

I became quite attached to this little crisp packet after spending a bit of time in his company yesterday. Even though he was plainly a bit out of place in Spring Wood, one couldn't help but have a sneaking admiration for his dogged survival since god only knows when he was heartlessly discarded somewhere upstream. And he's quite a handsome chap really. More characterful in his battered state. Sadly no best before date visible.

First swallows back at Tong Park dam. Lots of amorous Gadwall but biting easterlies and no recent rain putting a hold on other spring events. The smaller becks are almost dry.
