Hill Herd’s Holiday Home....
Sunny but cold today with a frost to start.
Cattle fed then headed off to my mechanic pal’s to collect the repaired PTO clutch for my fertiliser spreader as need to crack on with getting the barley done if it stays dry.
Back home via Lauder to collect an old caravan for the hill lamber to hide in when the weather turns bad. Only cost £50 quid as the boy had removed most of the insides. However it didn’t like the journey home much as every time I hit a bump the body bounced but the chassis didn’t !
Luckily all the police would be at Melrose Rugby sevens so made it home ok !
There is now a 2” gap between the body and the floor which I hope to cure with some angle iron and coach bolts . Don’t think Mrs F will want to go get holidays in it though !
May have to splash some more cash on another one if this one doesn’t survive being hauled out across the hill to the lambing park !
