Morris Dancing and other Delights

You don't see a lot of Morris Dancing in New Zealand.  Today this group were at the Wakefield Apple Fair.  In the background are some orchard workers from Vanuatu.  I wondered what they made of it.  
It is 200 years since missionary Samuel Marsden brought fruit trees to New Zealand.  Apple pressing was a big part of the day.  There were chopping machines and vintage presses for people to use to convert whole apples into apple juice.  All had to be powered by hand. 
The orchard workers from the Pacific Islands play a big role in the local harvest.  They had a string band that entertained and the little girl in extra two was getting into the rhythm.  Last extra is two ladies from the Tasman Line Dancers having a boot scootin' good time.
I had the most wonderful golden delicious apple but when we went back to buy some to take home they had sold out.  It was a blue sky day with no wind.  Perfect for the start of autumn.
