Here are two grandsons learning about nature by pond dipping.

They found five newts.
But they also found something less familiar. There were a number of Caddisfly houses. The larvae of the Caddisfly builds itself a protective casing. They have made this one (see extra) from twigs and bitten off pieces of plants. When the larvae has transformed into a fly it crawls out of the case, then climbs a water plant stem and takes to the air.
