Singed sideburns.....

Dry but still a stiff chill wind.
Managed to get the rest of the fertiliser onto the last 36 acres of barley down the road this morning.
After lunch did 30 acres in the hill lambing field as it’s a wee bit bare for 500 ewes . This cold weather has stopped everything growing .
2 cows calved tonight so hopefully they will have both sucked by the morning.
When I was spreading fert in the hill lambing field , came across a lot of straw left from when the cows feed ring was there. Decided it was dry enough to burn. Unfortunately there was a bit of blow back when I lit it. Could smell burning , but it wasn’t until I came in to the house that Mrs F pointed out ( in between laughs) that I had a nice ginger singe going on.
