Not quite mince pies

Another day at home with plague boy.
Didn't see the doctor as he actually got up and played a bit this morning and bounced about. He couldn't sustain it all day and was shattered by this evening. Still no school tomorrow for him by the looks of it.
We tried to make mince pies. It all seemed to go fine even though we only get 9 pies out of the pastry recipe. It wasn't until I tried to chisel them out of the pan I realised that the pastry wasn't right as it was so crumbly. It's a gluten free pastry from the Jamie Oliver Christmas mag and it suggested to put lemon zest in. This was not good and they taste a bit of lemon cleaner.
Hopefully next time they'll be better.
Only got one more sleep before I can escape to the secret Santa knitting night out. Really can't wait as I need to get out of the house.
