Norbury Junction
A lovely lunch date at Norbury with an old friend. One of her many talents is 'Roses and Castles' canal ware painting, and who I first became friends with in the 80's when we had stands at many Boat Shows, London, Birmingham and Southampton to name the main ones. Today we sat in the sunshine outside the pub and chatted about many, many things: old memories, mutual friends, current topics (ugh), her animals, wildlife and much more ......
and on the subject of wildlife then I was amazed to see a European Barn Owl on the arm of a man who had just alighted from his narrow boat and then said owl flying happily onto the back seat of the man's car. The man told us he had rescued 'Tilly' from an aviary a few years ago and he and Tilly have been together ever since.
* Extra: Tilly eyeing up the birds in the trees above her and in the car.
