Low Force

Finally the cloud thinned and by noon had been burned off to reveal a lovely Spring afternoon. We headed up Teesdale to do the tourist thing of walking the mile or so from the car park past the falls of Low and High Force on the Tees. It was very popular, and rightly so with plenty of photo opportunities, picnic options and pools for splashing in.

To return, I ran down the Pennine Way to Middleton and then onto the north bank of the river to follow the Teesdale Way back to Romaldskirk. It felt like the height of summer in the sun, I was dripping with sweat.
