Einstein

I went to a book signing for a horse today -- me and about 200 excited kids. We got to meet Einstein, a little pinto stallion who stands 6 hands high and weighs about 90 pounds. He's full grown and just the cutest little guy ever.

He was born in New Hampshire and weighed about 6 pounds and was 18 inches long -- about the size of a house cat and as tall as a cereal box. He got his name from the white tuft of askew hair on top of his head and his blue eyes. I think they said he was three years old. His parents were mini horses, so Einstein is a mini-mini,. He has a winter home in Washington State and travels across the country in a special vehicle outfitted with a stall and all the comforts of home.

His owners wrote a book called "A Friend for Einstein". It seems that Einstein's best friends are not horses but dogs and other critters. Big horses could trample him so he plays with "kids" his own size. The book is signed with a rubber stamp made from his hoof-print. Apparently, he's now under contract to Disney, and has appeared on "Oprah", so looks like he's headed for the big time. He seemed to enjoy all the kids crowding around him and was quite patient.

I actually left work early today so I could go to Einstein's book signing with the thought of getting a blip. Makes me laugh because were it not for blipping I probably would have read about the event and said something like "oh, how cute", but not given it another thought. Makes me wonder what I'll do next for a blip.
