Co operative fog today

It was an overcast morning, when we had a fabulous wander around delightful Horta, on the island of Faial. We were not hopeful of a spectacular afternoon, weather wise, but the fog and gloom lifted when we were at each viewpoint or spectacular place.

The Caldera was above the clouds and it was magnificent. Yes, the fog swirled in and out, but we could see the beauty.

We headed next for the Vulcao dos Capelinhos, which erupted as recently as 1957. (Yes. 1957 and carried on eruption until the end of 1958.) A wonderful site. I’ll add an extra if I can.

Finally, we saw the absolute peak of Monte Pico as we drove back along the south coast.
