Shaken, not stirred...

THAT time of year.

School Report day.
Eight years ago, those words instilled so much fear in me. Every report said "Katherine is an intelligent girl, however, to make the most of the endless opportunities she could end up with, she needs to apply herself more to the academic subjects not just the arts. Also submitting homework would benefit her greatly".
My parents were never pleased with my reports.
And I never did "apply myself" to the academic subjects, which resulted in frequently being told photography and music would get me nowhere in life.
Yeah. I showed them. Internationally recognised and sought after for my photographic work in the music industry. Suckers!!

Anywho. Now that I'm a parent with a child who finishes his first year at school tomorrow (eeeek, where has this year gone!?), I look forward to the words "School Report". Darling son was a little nervous. But his report was absolutely glowing!
He's almost a year younger than the other kids in his class, but in all areas except physical education (where he is on par), he excells and has surpassed many of the other kids. His classroom behaviour is listed as "excellent", and his effort is "very good".

Such a proud mummy moment. I am very lucky to have such a wonderful little (or not so little) boy.
