Song Sparrow +Turtles

We returned to the Fort River refuge today--the same cloudy weather continued, and we left early as it began to drizzle (though it did stop soon :) The song sparrow was near the parking lot, and the turtles were where they always are, in the pool not far along. They are red-eared sliders*--by far the most common species in our area, often kept as pets. Another blip of them is in an extra less than a year ago. 
*Next day:  Apparently they are painted turtles--very similar to sliders and in fact often confused with them
