Giants of the sea

We are used to the sight of big ships in Southampton and today’s offering was a maritime enthusiast’s joy.
The Italian cruise liner MSC Meraviglia arrived early morning from Vigo and was preparing to sail this evening for Kiel. At one time she was the biggest ship of the MSC fleet and still is a giant of the seas able to accommodate 4,500 passengers and carrying a crew of 1,536.
Meanwhile the container ship APL Temasek completed her turnaround and was sailing, heading for Le Havre.
Also arriving and departing at the port today, the P&O cruise ship Aurora.
