The Princess and the Dog

Hide The Bunnies

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

I came home from work today and it looked like someone had been trying to break in. There was only one suspect - Bella, the very cute and destructive dog next door.

After the time she pulled back the chicken wire, my neighbours had put a folded up garden table against the fence so she couldn’t get to where it joined onto the fence. Never one to miss an opportunity, Bella managed to jump up and perch on the narrow ledge, where above the level of the chicken wire, she systematically ripped a hole in the fence and jumped through to our garden.

Sadly for her, it’s a working day so no one came to the back door to play. Murphy was at doggy day care and was completely unaware that Bella was reenacting Romeo and Juliet in his garden.

I’m not sure if it was boredom or if she was channelling her inner Glenn Close, but she stripped ALL the beading off the folding back doors and chewed them all into pieces. You know, the stuff that holds in the seals in and makes them doors weatherproof! Thankfully, she didn’t manage to chew off more of the clips (because she couldn’t reach them) or the glass would have fallen out and she could have been really hurt.

Whilst it’s a hassle, I found it funny and quite cute although The Prince does NOT share my sentiment. He thinks we need to go full on Trump and get a wall built!

Not sure that would stop her.
