High wire act
I know I have blipped this Christmas/Jewel spider before (see here) but that was a front view, this is the underneath view... and it is a totally different spider, this one being in my parents' garden (where they have three of these lovely arachnids making webs across their veggie beds) and all three webs have one or two spiderlings in today as well, which was very exciting to see (I'm easily pleased). The babies are very small miniature versions of Mum and I only managed one half decent vaguely in focus shot, so you won't see one here.
I found some beautiful bright blue tiny, tiny beetles in the field (2mm = smaller than ladybirds) which you can find here.
School's out for summer, hooray! And a beautiful day it was today, for my son's last day at primary school. One of the boys in his class had a pool party this afternoon for the grade 6's at his (very nice resort-style) house in Panton Hill.
