the chameleon!
Our last full day in Stellenbosch and another hot one! Up and out early (for us!) 28 degrees C at 9am!
We had a drive to the other end of town, parked in the shade of a tree and had a walk in the Jan Marais Nature reserve. Most of it was left to nature with towering trees and thick fynbos- my hubby got fed up with me saying 'it must have been lovely in the spring' as most of the protea was past it's best. Nearer the entrance we got some shots of flowers, birds and a surprisingly fast tortoise. Then just as we were leaving my eagle eyed hubby spotted this very colourful but tiny chameleon crossing the path in front of us. He was also surprisingly fleet of foot till he climbed onto the closest bush then he froze hoping he would then be invisible.
Very obliging for a blipper!
