What was the best invention B4 the wheel?
So that's how it does it.
This has to be the best invention since, and it uses, the wheel.
We used to have a tin-opener "when Ah waz a lad" which consisted of a spike you drove into the centre, then worked a blade around the edge. A bit like this but nowhere near as posh. We also had what I think of as the "Sove and lift" variety.
After the 2-wheeled thingy which removed the top neatly, I thought that was the end. Stuff the electric ones, I'm not that feeble. Then came the one which removed the top and the lip, leaving the sharp edges on the tin, rather than the lid. I could never see what the point in that was.
But this little beauty had them all whipped.
It takes the top off, in such a way that, if you're so minded, you can use it as a lid for anything left in the tin.
As far as sharp edges go, you could saw either piece, tin or lid, against your throat and the worst which would happen, in all probability, is your arm would get tired.
Gaffer says if he's at Tatton Park flower-show we'll get another for the wagon.
