Pride of the Clyde

My friend Tim and I were on the Isle of Bute today to join in with other members of the British Pteridological Society (aka the Fern Club!) at Ascog Hall. 

We spend a day here every year, helping to maintain the fern collection in this lovely Victorian Fernery. 

On the way through we stopped in Rothesay to have a coffee and I couldn't resist taking a picture of the seafront gardens.

This is exactly what a seaside resort should look like, in my humble opinion!
