Pecking order

I was on my way out for my walk today and en route I delivered some Santa parcels and my "friend" actually chuckled at my outfit! To be honest I was a bit of a weird sight but at least it kept me dry - and this time I made sure i had my waterproofs outside of my wellies!

This huddle of horses amused me as there seemed to be a distinct pecking order whereby the bigger horses - don't you just love their waterproof gear? - waited patiently for the smaller ones to finish snacking at the hay bale. I wonder, can anyone think of a suitable caption? - "Waiting for the mane course" thank you alasdairb

As I walked, the ground underfoot was what can only be called gloupy however I was joined again today by my friend with Brodie, the young retriever, and all three dogs had a wonderful time splashing through the sodden ground sending the occasional spray of water flying as they did so.

I am back home now with the tree lights on, music playing and the kettle on for a cuppa with the dogs dry and settled at my feet. Now that the bought presents are safely under the tree, ready for the family's arrival after Christmas, I have started to make what might be a present for the youngest family member if only I can get it finished in time! I do have a reserve just in case .....
