Landing on the Strip
The family arrived safely this afternoon and we picked up an enormous and very comfortable rental car which seats 7/8 people so that we can enjoy getting out and about together. It is a Dodge and certainly the most comfortable bus I have ever been a passenger in! Thankfully there is no need for me to drive it as there are enough capable youngsters.
As we drove home I noticed this plane coming in to land and took a very quick shot to show how close the planes are to the Strip as they land. I know the majority of visitors here come to enjoy the casinos so maybe the next generation will be able to be parachuted straight in as they land! I know I could have cropped the image more but I wanted to show the Nevada registration plate too.
The Mandalay Bay is the hotel you can see and I love it with its golden mirrored facade. It is the furthest south on the Strip and marks the beginning of the extravaganza.
The boys loved the tall Christmas tree I blipped yesterday and after a bite to eat were soon tucked up in their beds. The grown ups then settled in to a delicious supper and watched the first stage of the Strictly Final via a link my son has managed to set up to record some BBC programmes. A great finish to an exciting day - it is wonderful to have the family all here together.
