Hug-a-Bear

This little ‘bear’ is handmade by a Pioneers member. Pioneers is an International volunteer organization of active & retired employees of the telecommunication industry (as in the AT&T, former baby-Bell, & now Verizon companies). I thought of this little bear when I viewed a recent entry by my Blip friend, JohnSmiley1321. His foto of his truck’s ‘safety’ computer & talk of a recent accident, prompted a comment from an EMT.
Pioneers make & present these Hug-a-Bears to EMTs, Police & Fire people. Their purpose: when they arrive at an accident or fire, the gift of this little bear helps comfort a child traumatized by the event. I keep a few Hug-a-Bears in my car trunk but fortunately have not needed to gift them. God Bless that I never will.
