Aqualate Mere.

Between Stafford and Newport lies the beautiful Aqualate Mere.

There’s no sign from the main road. I’m lucky in that I have a good friend who knows the secret.

There’s a car park and a lovely pathway and boardwalk to a bird hide, overlooking the water. Today, the light was delightful and we were treated to yellow tips, peacocks and white butterflies as we enjoyed the bluebells gleaming between the trees (Extra)

Beautiful swans, grebes, coots and mallards. So many photo opportunities.

But the Mere itself summed up the peace and gentleness.
