Spot the difference

Lately I’ve traded in the usual library surroundings, and instead worked in Hugh Robinson buildings. The computer lab there is underground, in a basement. To make up for the lack of natural light, and possibly in an effort to trick very tired students, the university has wallpapered trees onto the wall. Here I managed to grab one of the very few seats where there is a window, albeit with a view of another building, and you can see how realistic this is next to it’s real life counterpart...

I find my desire to get out of there, and into the sun, weirdly compelling and manage to stay focused for most of the day. Today I had a really productive morning, and then had a looong lunch with JD her friend and a flatmate of mine. Sat on George square gardens pretending it’s sunny, and trying to ignore the presence of the library as it stood over us, we sat, chatted and had a laugh. After a while we finally headed back, and I descended back down into the basement. Running on caffeine, I had another couple of hours before I then headed home, but not before going to see JD and saving her from revision for 15minutes.

In the evening, a flatmate and I, went to decathlon. I went with the goal of buying some cycling shoes, my flatmate came armed with the motto “If you don’t think you need anything from decathlon you probably need something from decathlon” - due to the impossible feat of leaving decathlon empty handed. But, alas, they didn’t have the shoes I wanted in my size and so the hunt goes on. I still bought some cycling shorts and my flatmate found out he needed a rugby ball and a flask so that’s what he got.
