Revision
This morning started with JD and I reading the news of the week over a bowl of muesli - this is always one of my favourite parts of my day, just JD and I slowly waking up to the world. We then cycled ( I was on the back of JD) down to the library. It’s getting much busier now, but we were both there before the masses had arrived. After a good morning of revision I met my flatmates for lunch, we got a Greg’s student deal - sandwich, coffee and a donut for £3, not bad. Fueled on caffeine and sugar I got back to work and ground out another past paper, before being repelled from the library and pulled towards the meadows to meet JD and her brother for some slackline in the sun. I had a nice catchup and a play on the slackline, and then I had to leave to meet a mate for a climb at the Pleasance.
On my way to Pleasance I stopped to take a picture of this beautiful, gentle border collie. Whom sits outside the bookshop everyday greeting passerby like an old friend. So friendly, and she makes me smile every time I stop to have a quick stroke. I then saw a friend of mine across the street (JD’s flatmate), so I surprised her with a big hug, she’s had a long week of essays and stress, but she made it out the other side and she’s finished - lucky for some.
Climbing was great, I’d not seen this friend for a while so lots to catchup on. Climbing can be a great distraction, allowing one to focus their brain on different sorts of problems. It’s another form of escapism, and if I can squeeze it in is a great time to relax and not have to think about revision. On my way back I popped back in the library to see how JD was getting on. She’s plodding along and she’s doing absolutely great, she’s putting in some long hours and is a real hard worker, I’m sure it will all pay off. I then came home to see my new book has arrived, “Wasp Factory” by Iain Banks. I bought it after a recommendation from a man I met at my interview last week, fingers crossed.
