Abertaff House
This is the oldest dwelling house in Inverness. (1593) Unusually, I noticed it was open to the public, so I went in. It was a bit disappointing. There was just one unfurnished ground floor room open, but there were two National Trust for Scotland ladies there to chat to. We mostly talked about the mantelpiece lintel, which seemingly was added in the 17th century. (See extra photo.) It appears to be declaration of undying love between AS and HP. The 'S' is for Sutor, not sure about the 'P.' I loved the 'Mr Man' heart! I'm wondering if these ladies will have a long summer sitting there waiting for tourists. The rest of the building are NTfS offices.
