Postcard from New Brighton... Murals

After such a beautiful day yesterday, today was overcast and really gloomy. Not Very cold.. the lack of sun made it feel much colder.

I had a surprise outing with John. We ended up by visiting New Brighton.

New Brighton is a seaside suburb of Christchurch. I remember going their when I was younger on a Saturday. New Brighton drew crowds in the 1950s and 60s as it was the only place you could shop on a Saturday, but it has since fallen on harder times even before the earthquakes. The only thing that is brightening up the place are all the murals.
