Derry Girls (ands Boys)
We caught the train from Coleraine at lunch time for a day out in Derry/Londonderry. The trip was lovely down the coast, we saw gliders, hovercraft racing and cars and horses on the beach.
We first walked around the Derry Walls which surround the inner city and are about 1.6km long. I hadn't expected them to take us past so many places I've heard about endless times in the past 45 years yet knew little about. Looking across the city we could see the route of the Bloody Sunday march, many murals on the end of housing blocks and the cemetery where many names from the news are buried. It was a bit breathtaking to see it all laid in front of us.
On a lighter note, there is mural of the Derry Girls, one of my top 2 favourite comedy series.
