What a lovely day:-

to Sail Away

I travelled today on the fast craft Mannanan from Douglas to Heysham. I am on my way down to Gloucestershire.   Here we are leaving Douglas Harbour and you see the Tower of Refuge.  This was built under the instructions of Sir William Hillary in 1832. He was living in the Isle of Man and, as is well known, was the founder of the R.N.L.I.

At very low tide it is possible to walk out to the Tower but regrettably I have never done it....
