The sun was shining, and it’s Dervaig plant sale, held each year in the church hall (an old fashioned village hall with a tin roof, we love it) on the first Monday in May to raise funds for the community orchard. The array of plants for sale was a delight to see, all produced by a small number of people in the Community for this day.

And yes, a great variety of cakes for sale as well as tea’s and cakes for refreshments, in the extra you will see the beaming smile of fellow blipper Applegate, one of the key organisers. They must feel shattered after Fridays event followed by all the work involved for today’s sale. What an amazing group of people. We now wait to hear how much was raised, I seem to think this will go towards a classroom planned to be built in the orchard.
