Brinkburn Priory

In a couple of weeks, my lovely friend will be getting married in this breathtakingly beautiful chapel!

This Bank Holiday Monday, we decided to do a recce of this stunning English Heritage location and look for a campsite nearby to park our motorhome on the night of the wedding.

After we had achieved both, we stopped at a lovely local pub for a spot of lunch. We ended up staying much longer than we ever expected as hubby's car would not start to take us home! The engine was immobilised and the car said the gearbox was faulty! It's a work car which had just had a full service so all the more surprising that it would not start. Thankfully we had a roaring fire and good pub desserts and coffee for the wait. After an hour or so of waiting for the specialist technician, I suggested we try the engine again and this time it started and we made it home! Sometimes, life forces you to stop for a while!
