Walking Through A Wheat Field In Shorts....

An early start this morning as Mr Kit was up and out for a day’s golf in Whitby by 7.30. I left Sushi promising me he would do lots of revision and headed to the yard. China and I went for a hack with Lucie and Big Gordon and both horses enjoyed the stretch and relax after the dressage yesterday. Back at the yard we got the measuring stick out to see how big both horses were...China is a smidge short of 16.3hh and Gordon found the idea of anyone putting the stick anywhere near him so terrifying that we can still only guess that he’s a good 17hh plus.

After lunch and checking on the Sushi revision status, I left him to meet up with my friend K and her dogs for a walk from her house, through an old, now semi-abandoned yard where we used to livery our horses (along with fellow blipper Jankerman) to the pub. The walk there was lovely, even though we collected another dog from one of the farms we passed as it decided it didn’t want to go home but wanted to join us. A swift half and a packet of crisps and we headed back, with extra dog still in tow. As we joined the bridlepath we were met with the annual Young Farmers Charity Tractor Drive...all 95 of them! As a word of warning....having to walk through a wheat field in shorts is not good for the legs, but better than being squashed by a John Deere! Once the tractors had passed we were able to reunite the extra dog (by now on one of our leads) with it’s very apologetic owner and head back to K’s house.

Back home, still not convinced that what Sushi feels is enough revision and what I feel is enough revision are the same but as his first exam is tomorrow I have to hope he’s right and I’m wrong.

It’s best to look at this and my extras in large to see the full extent of the line of tractors as for the first time ever I had gone for a walk with K without my camera and so I had to rely on my phone!
