Maybe the very last large purchase before abandonment. We are in Crisfield, MD, first settled in 1663. Once a very prosperous fishing village on the Chesapeake Bay, Crisfield's fortunes sharply declined when pollution poisoned their fishing waters and sent the place's fortunes into a tailspin. We drove around the area and were  surprised at the number of 'abandoned' properties that we saw. I'm certain that we will learn the  'backstory' to this early settlement on our Road Scholar Program.
