Guinea fowl

Just because it's the first time I've been close enough to photograph these skittish creatures without them panicking, they can be my main blip.

The dogs (extra) and I had returned, exhausted, from our afternoon walk in the heat, and flopped onto the cool grass in the front garden where the guineas wander freely. They gradually came closer because we weren't moving about.

Tonight's must-see for me is the start of the new series of the delightful 'Mum' on BBC2, with our own Peter Mullan as you've never seen him before.

RIP  Ben, lovely big gentle dog (I heard the news today. He won't be there when I go to house-sit next month.)
