House of Dun

A beautiful warm day

We set out for Edzell Castle, hoping it would be open this time, but when we arrived we discovered it was closed, despite what it had said on the website. We then had our picnic in the Edzell village park and took a couple of photos of some interesting buildings.

Since it was only 20 minutes away, we decided to visit the House of Dun. Although we had been before, I had never been able to take the full tour but this time I felt up to it. The guide was excellent and although it is not a large house it was an interesting visit. The grounds are lovely as you can see from the photo.
